Neurotranmissions Podcast
Transforming a research podcast into a consistent, video Podcast released 100+ episodes and expanded audience reach.
When I took over as lead producer of Max Planck Florida's Neurotransmissions Podcast in 2019, the show had been running sporadically since 2016 without a consistent publishing schedule or clear audience growth strategy. The challenge was to professionalize production, establish reliability, and evolve the format to meet changing media consumption habits. I implemented a structured production workflow that enabled the podcast to publish on a regular schedule for the first time in its history, while maintaining the scientific rigor and accessibility that made the show valuable.
In 2024, I led the transition to a video podcast format, recognizing that platforms like YouTube and Spotify were prioritizing video content—a strategic shift that expanded reach and engagement. The podcast reached its 100th episode milestone in early 2025, establishing it as one of the longest-running neuroscience podcasts produced by a research institution. The show is currently in strategic planning for its next phase, with the foundation now in place for sustainable, long-term growth.
