Paper Trails®

Research Explainer Video Series

Complex research deserves clear communication. Paper Trails® transforms peer-reviewed neuroscience publications into accessible 3-5 minute explainer videos, making cutting-edge research understandable for broader audiences. Each episode takes a recently published paper from MPFI researchers and breaks down the science through visual storytelling, combining motion graphics, interviews, and observational footage to illustrate concepts that typically live behind paywalls and technical jargon.

The series serves multiple purposes: helping the public understand the value of basic research, supporting researchers in communicating their work beyond academic circles, and providing educational content for students and science communicators. Several episodes have been broadcast on PBS, extending the reach of MPFI's research to regional television audiences.
